Description

GUIDE represents an innovative assistive technology solution designed to help visually impaired individuals navigate safely. The system combines LiDAR sensors (TF-Luna) and depth cameras (SIPEED MaixSense A010) to provide real-time obstacle detection up to 2 meters ahead.

The walking stick uses machine learning algorithms to process sensor data and distinguish between different types of obstacles. When an obstacle is detected, the system delivers haptic feedback through vibration motors, alerting the user to potential hazards.

Hardware design was completed in Autodesk Fusion 360, ensuring ergonomic and practical integration of all electronic components. The project demonstrates expertise in embedded systems, sensor fusion, and human-centered design.

  • Designed and built assistive device for visually impaired navigation
